We are the only high school in the district and all the two middle schools feed into my school. Although we are one of the 7 school districts in Spartanburg.
My name is Ashley Beard and I am the only full time art teacher at South Pointe HS in Rock Hill, SC. Our school is only 3 years old, so this is an exciting time for us as this is our first graduating senior class.
My school is the third high school in Rock Hill School District 3 and there were 3 part-time teachers this year (two from Northwestern who each taught one section of Art I and one from Rock Hill HS who taught 2 sections of Art I).
My school has approx. 1300 students and this year there were 6 Art I classes (I taught 2), two of Art 2, one Art 3, one Art 4 and one AP student who was in class with Art 3. I currently have 10 students signed up for AP next year.
My school is an urban middle school with approximately 750 students. About 75% are on free/reduced lunch. We have a very high minority and ESOL population.
I am one of two Art teachers at my school. I teach 6th-8th grade Art, 7th and 8th grade Advanced Art, and 6th-8th grade G/T Art.
I teach at Dorman HS located in Roebuck,SC which is a suburb of Spartanburg. Our campus has a 10th-12th grade school and a freshman school on the same grounds. Our school is the second largest high school in the state with about 3000 students (apx. 700 at 9th grade school and 2300 at the 10th-12th grade school). There are six art teachers for the two schools. The courses I teach are AP Art, Art IV, Art III, and Design Principles.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in this year's certification institute!
I teach art to 7-12 grade students at Ware Shoals High School. The 7th and 8th grade students are in one class, so I often have students who have already had the class last year mixed with students who have not had middle school art. On the high school level, I teach Art Intro, Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Design, and Set Design in conjunction with the drama class.
I teach Art I at a high school of which of over 1,700 students who come from a variety of socio-economic and family cultures. I am one of two art teachers. Some of my students are capable of much more than they give themselves credit for. Others get an idea of some of things available by the time they graduate. There were over 342 graduates at our school who managed to get awarded over 11.5 million dollars in scholarship money. (So I am saving any information that comes my way for we have three children who we hope will get to go to college/university) (Hey, I got the feeling I am the last one to figure out how to get on in the time allotted, for we are still shutting down the school year at our school.) Is there a way to get a grammar/style check within this blog?
