Northwestern

Although I don't currently have a "school home", I did spend last semester as an intern at Northwestern High in
Rock Hill. The 2006 school report card lists 1,121 students. The classes I was able to teach were ART I and
ART II. The AP class was taught by their regular classroom teacher. Art III 2D and Art III 3D as well as Art IV are also offered. There are three art teachers for this strong program. These classes had a diverse group of students with many strong personalities. They created some impressive work.

the Wade Hampton High Art Department

My name is Jim Willey (willie) and I have been teaching at Wade Hampton for 4 years and along side another art teacher for the last two. We have a diverse group of students, with 6 Art I courses, 4 Art II, an Art III/IV, an Art IIIH/IVH, and a Digital Media for the Artist class. We are around 40% FARMs at our school. Although we serve many government assisted housing areas in Greenville, we also serve many wealthy areas near our school. Our school is most famous for our "institutional-looking" 2-year old building and our ability to raise money for charity (>$100,000 during our spirit week). I am ready to return to Columbia and USC along with each of you.
